Installing and positioning my Solarcop

Updated over a year ago

In order to control your irrigation, we need to take into account rainfall, humidity, and wind speed data. This is why you need to have a Windcrop and a Raincrop nearby.

Prerequisites

The positioning of the station is fundamental to ensure accurate data collection. A few prerequisites must be followed:

  • Place the station in a flat, open area with no obstructions and no shadows.

  • Your Raincrop and Windcrop stations should be at least 2 meters apart to avoid shadows or interference with the measurements.

The rain gauge should be placed at a height of approximately 1.5 meters.

  • Stations should be located at least 10 times the height of the nearest obstacle.

  • Check that the Windcrop is facing north. Place the Solarcrop south on the Windcrop mast.

⚠️ Check that the Solarcrop is level using the built-in spirit level.

Incorrect sensor tilt will result in inaccurate or falsified data.
